The Evil Crypt Keeper
——————————————
There once was an evil crypt keeper
who practiced the blackest arts
reanimating dead bodies
in his cellar after dark.
The graveyard’s neighbors grew suspicious
of strange noises heard within
and so they asked the crypt keeper,
“What is the source of all the din?”
“I am your only crypt keeper.
I’ve buried half of all your kin.
How could you treat me with suspicion?
Do not come to me again!”
And, so the years went on and on…
The townsfolk learned to ignore the sounds
and no one dared go near the graveyard
in the hours after sundown.
But after many years a young boy
wandered carelessly at night.
He stumbled blindly into the graveyard
in the total lack of light.
The boy was lost and scared and tired
and soon his feet grew very sore
and so the young boy sought safe refuge
at the evil crypt keeper’s door.
But, when he stepped down to the cellar
he was heard from nevermore…
“Cresco Maleficus Corpus Excitare
Sepulchrum Ab Terrigenus
Surgam Nunc Oriri!!!”
At this the townsfolk grew very angry
and they gathered in the square.
A vengeful mob was quickly formed.
People came from everywhere
and then they marched down to the graveyard
calling for his evil head
but the crypt keeper was waiting
with the Legion of Undead!
“I told you once before to leave me,
but you did not listen to my wish.
Now, you shall meet all my minions.
I’m sorry it had to come to this!!!”
The throng cried out for his damned soul
and for the memory of their clans.
In response there came a shriek
with which the bloodlet began.
The town and graveyard are still there
and people share this morbid tale.
And, if you wander near the graveyard
townsfolk tell you to beware!
Now, life has long since turned to normal.
You may say this all sounds trite
but the townsfolk still hear noises
from some evil source at night.
